FFF presents Crash Cuddle, Mad Nanna, and John Zuma St. Pelvyn in Mankato

We are pleased as punch to be hosting another concert event in Mankato at The What's Up Lounge on August 30th with a wildly diverse line-up that's sure to pique the interest of those seeking NEW and OUTER REALM sounds. If by-the-numbers bar blues and receding hairline metal are your bag, you might want to plant your keister on a barstool elsewhere on this evening. For those intrigued and are 21+, can cough up a measly 6 clams, and can stay up past 10 pm - here is what's store for you.

John Zuma St. Pelvyn:

To call John Zuma St. Pelvyn a blues guitarist wouldn't be inaccurate, but it would be somewhat misleading. This Minneapolis-based guitarist attacks the blues with a delicate hand bend on destroying the form. As his label writes of his latest release Lost Masters of the Shortwave Choir (pictured), "Digging deep trench with well rusted spade, Saint leans hard and delivers explosive manifestations of supreme destructo-beauty . . . Sun-stroked feedback and elevated fingerpick shimmer physically rips tattered holes through the very fabric of time itself."

Mad Nanna:

Melbourne, Australia's Mad Nanna has put out a steady flow of tapes, 7" singles, and LP releases over the past three or so years on labels from around the globe. Their lo-fi-to-no-fi approach to recording and cryptic, barely-there song sketches place them firmly within a long tradition of outsider folk-rock charmers from the likes of The Shaggs and Jandek up through to The Shadow Ring and The Dead C. Mad Nanna is currently touring the U.S. for the first time and joining them on drums for their Mankato visit will be Twin Cities-based drummer, Adam Patterson, whom played with Jandek at his show in Mankato last year.

Crash Cuddle:

Mankato's Crash Cuddle are an explosive, yet equally complex, instrumental power rock duo. At turns both rhythmically charged and melodically nuanced, CC is able to incite the riverbend locals into fits of group no-mind body lurch like few others - we've witness this on several occasions. They're sure to be a cathartic closer to an evening of unique sounds. We hope to see you there.
